Christian Weiss visits Restaurant Kreuzli in Rapperswil

Weibel Weine | Kreuzli Rapperswil

Christian Weiss, Sales Representative at Weibel Weine, recently visited Restaurant Kreuzli in Rapperswil. He enjoyed diced beef fillet Stroganoff with sour cream, parsley, and butter spätzli, accompanied by a Brunello di Montalcino DOCG from Col d’Orcia, while engaging in conversation with the hosts, Sivi and Luca:

What do your guests particularly appreciate about the restaurant?

Our restaurant is a truly special place — small, individual, and run with great passion and heart. Many of our guests describe it as a kind of extended living room in Rapperswil: a place where you immediately feel welcome and at ease. A personal, intimate atmosphere is at the core of what we do. We take time for our guests and are always happy to accommodate individual wishes. This flexibility and closeness are especially appreciated — here, you are not just a guest, but someone who feels seen and understood. Our lovingly designed interior also plays a part: with a strong attention to detail, it creates a warm, unique ambiance that you won’t find just anywhere.

Culinarily, we focus on classic French cuisine — authentic, rich, and true to tradition, with cream and butter as it should be. Our deliberately concise menu changes every six to seven weeks and consistently follows the seasons. This allows us to guarantee freshness, quality, and ever-changing moments of indulgence.

In short: if you are looking for something truly special, you’ve come to the right place.

Which wines from Weibel Weine are customer favorites?

Our wine list offers a diverse selection of high-quality labels — some of which have truly found a special place in our guests’ hearts. Among the absolute favourites are wines with strong character and distinct personality.

Particularly sought-after is the elegant Brunello di Montalcino from Col d’Orcia in Tuscany, celebrated for its depth and finesse.

Equally popular is the Magari Bolgheri DOP from the renowned Ca’Marcanda estate — a modern classic with remarkable expression.

Timeless favourites such as Chianti Classico also enjoy great popularity among our guests and hold a permanent place on our menu. The selection is further enriched by outstanding wines from producers like Elio Grasso, whose Barbera d’Alba is just as impressive as their white wines.

Other highly regarded discoveries come from South Tyrol, including wines from Elena Walch, as well as from Piedmont, such as those by Figli Luigi Oddero.

Our selection stands for quality, character, and pure enjoyment — and is continuously curated with great passion, ensuring that our guests can always discover new favourite wines.

What is the house specialty? And what makes it special?

The undisputed signature dish of our house is Stroganoff — a true classic that has delighted our guests for years. Tender beef, finely diced, is prepared with great care and traditionally served with spätzli. A dish that stands for comfort, warmth, and timeless appeal — one you’ll always be happy to return to.

Beyond this, our kitchen offers a refined selection of classic, high-quality dishes. Premium ingredients such as lobster, sole, and turbot are just as much a part of our menu as seasonal highlights — currently, for example, fresh asparagus served with homemade sauce hollandaise.

What unites all our dishes is a deep dedication to classic cuisine, a love of detail, and the ambition to offer our guests an authentic and truly enjoyable dining experience.
