Winemaking
The vineyard spans 0.41 hectares in the commune of Dezize-Les-Maranges, where Pinot Noir is cultivated on white gravel soils over blue marl. The vines were planted in 1986 and are organically farmed, with mechanical soil work and ploughing. The grapes are handpicked and carefully sorted on a vibrating table. Maceration lasts 15 days with minimal intervention. The wine is aged for 12 months in 350-liter oak barrels, 15 to 20% of which are new, followed by an additional 4 to 6 months in tanks before bottling.
Our tasting note
Deep ruby red in the glass. The nose is marked by powerful aromas of red berries with a hint of underbrush. On the palate, it is round and fleshy with a clear structure and robust character, enhanced by mineral tones and a subtle flinty finish. A highly delicate and elegant wine.
Bruno Colin
Bruno Colin is a passionate winemaker with a solid technical and commercial education from the prestigious wine school of Beaune. In 1993, he joined the family estate Michel Colin-Deleger, where he worked alongside his parents and his brother. In 2003, the family decided to divide the estate into three independent domaines: Domaine Michel Colin-Deleger, Domaine Philippe Colin, and Domaine Bruno Colin. The following year, Bruno vinified his first vintage under his own name – the beginning of an independent success story. Today, Bruno Colin cultivates around 8.55 hectares of vineyards in some of the most prestigious terroirs of the Côte de Beaune – including the communes of Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin, Santenay, and Dezize-les-Maranges. With a total of 20 appellations – among them eight Premiers Crus in Chassagne-Montrachet – Bruno places the utmost importance on expressing the unique character of each plot. With a fine sense of balance and elegance, he captures the individuality of each parcel in his wines – precise, nuanced, and full of personality.
