Winemaking
The vineyard covers just 0.04 hectares and is planted with Chardonnay grapes growing on clay-limestone soils. The vines were planted in 1962 and are farmed organically, with mechanical soil cultivation and ploughing. The grapes are harvested by hand and meticulously sorted directly in the vineyard to ensure only the finest fruit is used. The Chevalier-Montrachet appellation lies within the commune of Puligny-Montrachet and spans a total of 7.5 hectares. After harvest, the wine is aged for 12 months in 350-liter barrels, 15 to 20% of which are new. It then rests for an additional 4 to 6 months in tanks before bottling.
Our tasting note
Brilliant golden yellow in the glass. The nose reveals a complex bouquet of ripe pear, peach, and citrus fruits, complemented by hints of toasted nuts, vanilla, honey, and a distinctive mineral note. On the palate, it shows remarkable depth and structure, with a creamy texture and vibrant acidity that bring freshness and elegance. Flavors of apple and citrus blend seamlessly with the fresh minerality. The long, mineral-driven finish underscores the wine’s impressive complexity.
