Winemaking
The vineyard area covers 1.71 hectares and includes nine distinct plots: En Journoblot, Voillenots, Poirier du Clos, Les Beuttes, Puits Merdreaux, La Canotte, La Platière, Les Benoites, and Le Chêne. Chardonnay thrives on the clay-limestone soils. The vines were planted between 1955 and 2016. The vineyard is farmed organically, with mechanical soil cultivation and careful ploughing. The grapes are harvested by hand with meticulous selection in the vineyard. The wine is aged for 12 months in 350-liter barrels, 15 to 20% of which are new, followed by a further 4 to 6 months in tanks before bottling.
Our tasting note
Clear straw yellow in the glass. The nose reveals intense, clean, and inviting fruit aromas. On the palate, the wine displays a round, almost velvety texture, with seductive notes of yellow fruits such as peach, apricot, and mirabelle plum. Its rich structure and approachable character make it delightful to enjoy now, while still offering promising potential for further development in the bottle.
Bruno Colin
Bruno Colin is a passionate winemaker with a solid technical and commercial education from the prestigious wine school of Beaune. In 1993, he joined the family estate Michel Colin-Deleger, where he worked alongside his parents and his brother. In 2003, the family decided to divide the estate into three independent domaines: Domaine Michel Colin-Deleger, Domaine Philippe Colin, and Domaine Bruno Colin. The following year, Bruno vinified his first vintage under his own name – the beginning of an independent success story. Today, Bruno Colin cultivates around 8.55 hectares of vineyards in some of the most prestigious terroirs of the Côte de Beaune – including the communes of Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin, Santenay, and Dezize-les-Maranges. With a total of 20 appellations – among them eight Premiers Crus in Chassagne-Montrachet – Bruno places the utmost importance on expressing the unique character of each plot. With a fine sense of balance and elegance, he captures the individuality of each parcel in his wines – precise, nuanced, and full of personality.
