Winemaking
The vineyard covers 0.24 hectares in the «Champs Jeandreau» plot, planted with Chardonnay vines from 1951 and 1977. The clay and limestone soil is organically farmed; soil cultivation is done mechanically with gentle ploughing. The grapes are harvested by hand with careful selection in the vineyard. The wine is aged for 12 months in 350-liter oak barrels, 15 to 20% of which are new, followed by another 4 to 6 months of maturation in stainless steel tanks before bottling. A special feature: the «La Boudriotte» appellation is closely linked to «Morgeot» and includes several sites such as La Boudriotte, La Roquemaure, Champ Jeandreau, Les Chaumes, Les Fairendes, and Les Petites Fairendes. These sites can be marketed either under their own names or under the names La Boudriotte or Morgeot.
Our tasting note
Bright straw yellow in the glass. The nose opens with aromas of ripe fruit and white blossoms. On the palate, it impresses with a perfect balance between finesse and power, making it appear open, direct, and well-structured. The texture is dense, complex, and expressive. This Premier Cru has exceptional aging potential. Full-bodied, round, juicy, and fleshy, it finishes with a long, mineral-driven finale.
Bruno Colin
Bruno Colin is a passionate winemaker with a solid technical and commercial education from the prestigious wine school of Beaune. In 1993, he joined the family estate Michel Colin-Deleger, where he worked alongside his parents and his brother. In 2003, the family decided to divide the estate into three independent domaines: Domaine Michel Colin-Deleger, Domaine Philippe Colin, and Domaine Bruno Colin. The following year, Bruno vinified his first vintage under his own name – the beginning of an independent success story. Today, Bruno Colin cultivates around 8.55 hectares of vineyards in some of the most prestigious terroirs of the Côte de Beaune – including the communes of Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin, Santenay, and Dezize-les-Maranges. With a total of 20 appellations – among them eight Premiers Crus in Chassagne-Montrachet – Bruno places the utmost importance on expressing the unique character of each plot. With a fine sense of balance and elegance, he captures the individuality of each parcel in his wines – precise, nuanced, and full of personality.
